O Eksperimenta! é uma iniciativa belíssima de um estúdio de arte de Tallinn, Estônia, do qual eu sou parceiro e participei da primeira edição em 2011. É uma grande oportunidade para professores de arte que querem expor no exterior projetos desenvolvidos com/por seus estudantes. Se alguém precisar de maiores informações pode escrever pra mim, sou o curador da mostra brasileira na exposição de 2014. É possível conseguir financiamento do MinC para essa viagem, posso ajudar com isso também.

Eksperimenta! is an international contemporary art festival for young people in the age of 14 – 19, taking place in Tallinn, Estonia with the mission to support the development of critical, socially sensitive and creative thinking in society through the integration of contemporary art and art education. Eksperimenta! invites art and art education organisations world-wide to become partners for the E! 2014 triennial Art & Science with the role of organising the national exhibitions.

Focusing on the topic Space, the first E! took place in 2011. Eksperimenta! 2014 will be held in October – November 2014 in Tallinn Creative Hub on the topic Art & Science, integrating contemporary art, art education and different fields of sciences. Art, education and sciences are all becoming more interdisciplinary, for example a great part of contemporary art uses research-based approach, in education discipline-based approach is changing into topic-based approach and new fields of sciences are born in the crossborder of disciplines. The E! triennial offers a cooperation platform for young people, art educators, artists, curators, and scientists, being a kind of creative laboratory where new innovative knowledge is born. Read more below.

The role of the partner organisation includes selecting the national curator and organising the production of national exhibition. Eksperimenta! team will provide overall building and design of the triennial area, technical equipment, marketing, compilation of the catalogue and the programme of the opening week.

In case of interest, please send: 1) an introduction of your organisation (up to 1800 charaters); 2) a letter of motivation with the vision about the role of curator working with the age 14 – 19 (up to 1800 characters) to: annely@eksperimenta.net.

Aabout Eksperimenta! 2014 Art & Science

E! 2014 Art & Science will take place in October – November 2014 in Tallinn Creative Hub (http://www.kultuurikatel.ee/eng). The triennial will consist of: 1) the national exhibitions (current open call), 2) the cross-border exhibition, 3) IDEAlaboratory conference, 4) art education research project.

The national exhibitions

The main part of the triennial will consist of national exhibitions, each of them focusing on a field of science (for example Art & Ecology, Art & Sociology etc). The exhibitions will be organised by the national partners and curators, selected by the partners. The topic Art & Science will be narrowed in each country depending on local interests. Exhibitions will include contemporary art work from young artists in the age of 14 – 19.

  

The cross-border exhibition

The cross-border exhibition will focus on social topics and international cooperation between young people. They will start with local activities in partner countries and will continue as an international workshop during the opening week in Tallinn. Young people will form international teams who will map and research social questions of their interest and offer creative solutions to the questions. More information November 2013 onwards.

The IDEAlaboratory conference

Two days conference will focus on ways of integrating science, art and art education. The first day will deal with integration possibilities of different sciences, art and art education; the second day will focus on contemporary art didactics. Open call in March 2014.

The art education research project

The project acts as a central bridge between art, art education and curating. It will integrate two currents: contemporary art (curator + artists = exhibition) and art education (teacher + students = exhibition) in search of a new art education didactical model. More information October 2013 onwards.

Partners meeting in 2013 in Tallinn

For preparing the E! 2014 triennial the meeting of partners and curators will be organised on 26^th – 28^th of September 2013. The meeting gives a chance to the partners to see the future triennial location and discuss organisational questions.

Feedback about Eksperimenta! 2011

Focusing on the topic Space, the first Eksperimenta! exhibition took place in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia being one of the key events in the programme of European Capital of Culture, Tallinn 2011. The exhibition lasted 50 days,  from 27th of April to 14th of June 2011. The national exhibitions, compiled by professional curators from each participating country, presented more than 400 works of art created by 844 young artists from 13 countries: Canada, Portugal, Germany, Slovenia, Turkey, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Finland, Russia, Republic of  Korea, Iceland and Ireland. The first E! attracted more than 18 000 visitors and received intense media attention with more than 200 media coverages in written press, radio and TV, both locally and internationally. The exhibition was reviewed by biggest Estonian channels, but also Euronews, Taide & Design, The Baltic Guide, The Baltic Guide, Süddeutche Zeitung, TV SLO1, Voima among others.

Eksperimenta! 2011 partners have brought out a cloud of keywords of what they liked most about E! triennial. Architectual solution, design and visual concept were brought out most, followed by venue, concept idea, volunteers, catalogue etc.

As imbricações da cultura contemporânea à popular

Em uma sociedade hibridizada, torna-se freqüente a superposição de interesses, hábitos e ações por parte de seus convivas. No entanto a realidade é que estas imbricações são temporárias e que acabam por gerar movimentos que seguirão características e formas muito específicas.

Ao se tomar a cultura popular como essencialmente contemporânea, pode-se vislumbrar um sem número de movimentos que polulam o cotidiano e carecem de discussões e observações.

O CIANTEC convida a professores, pesquisadores, estudantes e profissionais à reflexão deste popular junto à realidade contemporânea, abrindo espaço na arte, nas novas tecnologias e na comunicação.

popular and contemporary cultures imbrications

On a hybridized society it is quite common the overlaying of interests, habits and actions by the ones living on it. However, truth is that these superimpositions are temporary, and eventually generates trends to be followed in very specific manners.

Facing popular culture as essentially contemporary, one can foresee innumerous movements that pop up from the quotidian and beg for discussion and observations.

For that matter, CIANTEC invites professors, researchers, students and professionals to deliberate about this popular face the contemporary reality, opening spaces for arts, new technology and communication.

The subjects of this issue are divided as follow, but not restricted to:

Society, Culture and Art (spaces, subversion, appropriation, creation, museums, identity)

Communication and New Media (Design, media, technology, platform, trends)

Contemporary Art Education (Curating, Mediation, TIC, production, artist, public)

Abandono e descaso na Casa de Cultura Mario Quintana: o depoimento de Isabel Ramil

Eu, Isabel Ramil e o artista Eduardo Montelli estávamos com uma exposição multimídia chamada "estar como habitar" em cartaz na Casa de Cultura Mário Quintana.

Ainda que a exposição estivesse fazendo parte de um Prêmio criado pelo Instituto Estadual de Artes Visuais (IEAVI), nós tivemos que lidar, durante todo o período de montagem, com constante má vontade, incompetência, e total falta de apoio da instituição. Ainda assim fomos capazes de montar uma exposição de alto nível, como nós acreditamos que deve ser sempre. Montamos a exposição com muito cuidado, fixamos os trabalhos e os equipamentos, puxamos os fios, furamos as paredes, arrumamos as luzes. Foi uma conquista e uma raridade no contexto da CCMQ uma exposição multimídia como foi essa. 

Na sexta-feira, dia 8 de junho, a uma semana do fim da exposição, recebemos a notícia de que um dos televisores e um DVD contendo um trabalho do Eduardo, haviam sido roubados da galeria. Nesse dia, a exposição não havia sido aberta para visitação pois, como explicou a segurança, eles não souberam ligar os monitores. Quando a diretora do IEAVI, passando por lá e vendo a exposição fechada, pediu a um segurança que abrisse a porta para que ela ligasse os monitores, viram que a porta não estava de fato trancada e que faltava um monitor.

O ladrão subiu ao sétimo andar, abriu a porta sem arrombar, tirou a TV que estava bem fixada ao suporte na parede e saiu da Casa de Cultura com uma TV LCD de 24" nas mãos sem ser pecebido pelos mais de 5 seguranças que ficam no local (e que estavam bem avisados dessa exposição e dos equipamentos que lá estavam). O sistema de monitoramento de câmeras estava desligado nesse dia, pois estava com defeito. O IEAVI não se responsabiliza pela segurança das obras expostas, muito menos se elas são "tecnológicas".

Já soubemos de muitos outros casos de trabalhos roubados em exposições na Casa de Cultura, e achamos que já é tempo de isso acabar. A grande questão aqui não é o roubo da Televisão em si, mas o abandono vergonhoso da instituição e o descompromisso de um instituto que leva o nome das Artes Visuais mas é incapaz de garantir a manutenção e segurança das exposições que estão ali promovendo o nome da instituição e de sua diretora.

Escrevemos pois gostaríamos de denunciar essa total falta de segurança e completo descaso com as obras expostas na Casa de Cultura. Este deveria ser um local em que dá gosto expor, mas acabou se tornando um grande pesadelo. 

É importante tornar pública a incompetência, pois é somente assim que as coisas começam a se modificar. Então, se tu puderes ajudar a fazer deste um fato público, nós agradecemos muito. Devemos nos manifestar em busca da qualificação dos espaços expositivos da cidade.

YICCA 2012 Young International Contest of Contemporary Art

The competition's aim is to promote the enrolled artist, giving them chance to join the international market of contemporary art.

This aim will be pursued by taking advantage of the opportunities that the contest offers:

• exhibit of selected artworks in a private exhibition space, determined by competition, set at contemporary art gallery
  "THE CHEMISTRY GALLERY" - PRAGUE (CZECH REPUBLIC)
• improvement of the relationship between finalists and critics, curators, gallery owners, public and private art institutions that will have access to this important exhibition.
• maximum visibility access through the advertising campaign that will follow the competition and all its stages
• the works of selected artist will be published on "YICCA 2012" catalogue which will be distributed free of charge to the finalists and will be available for professionals and institutions invited during the inauguration of the event.
• the finalists of the competition will have the possibility to stay in Prague for free during the opening day, as well.

There are three ways to subscibe an artwork to the contest:

1) Subscribers not registered in YICCA communty:

The registration form must be fill out with:

• artist name and surname, pseudonym or name of artist group
• e-mail address,
• title of work (or word "untitled"),
• brief description of the work (technique, year, features etc.- max 1500 types),
• image of the work in jpg or gif format. Video must be uploaded as picture frame type (still video) requiered for submission;
• the video have to be uploaded through vimeo.com

2) Subscriber already registered in YICCA community:

Community users can submit their artworks (already inside the communty) to the contest by clicking "ADD TO CONTEST" button placed in the upper right area inside the chosen artworks page.

3) Third parties

Third parties can submit to the contest only artworks already inside the communty by clicking "ADD TO CONTEST" button placed in the upper right area inside the chosen artworks page.

Before forwarding of registration it will be necessary to choose a method of entry fee payment equal to EUR 30.00 (thirty).

Sent registration will be held in stand-by by the system until payment of the quote is made.

After submitting the registration form, it can't be changed.

De dentro e de fora: Acampamento Ersilia

DE DENTRO E DE FORA traz oito artistas estrangeiros para residência e criação de obras e intervenções artísticas de site specific. Pinturas, murais, esculturas, instalações, colagens, objetos, fotografias, mapas, impressos, vídeos e animações serão as principais mídias utilizadas. O trabalho é colaborativo e a obra de cada artista estará em diálogo direto com as dos outros, em uma produção interdependente de trabalhos dentro do mesmo espaço expositivo.

A falta de lixeiras nas estações de metrô de Londres fazem destes espaços públicos algo sujo e feio. O medo de bombas e ataques terroristas é uma obsessão que faz com que os Londrinos não enxerguem a verdadeira bomba: a sujeira com a qual eles se acostumaram a conviver.

The lack of trashcans in subway stations in London make these public spaces look dirty and ugly. The fear of bombs and terrorist attacks is an obsession that makes the Londoners not see the real bombshell: the dirt with which they are used to living.

b)  Processos de Criação e poéticas do Cotidiano

Investigações no pensar e fazer da arte (dimensões poéticas e processuais da obra), materialidade e visualidade, processos de formação, criação, mediação e recepção nas poéticas visuais e nos fenômenos artísticos da contemporaneidade, relacionados aos contextos culturais contemporâneos e àqueles ligados ao cotidiano.

Em celebração pela inauguração do nosso novo prédio em julho de 2011 (7/11), você está convidado a participar da Sete x 11: Arte pela Arte. Esta exposição no estilo salão é aberta a artistas de todos os níveis e idades. Sua contribuição de um a dez pequenos trabalhos o qualificará a ser um dos primeiros artistas a expor na nova UICA. Os trabalhos doados serão parte de uma exposição de cinco semanas na proeminente Race Street Gallery. O dinheiro obtido com a venda dos trabalhos será revertido em um fundo para bolsas e cachês de artistas emergentes participantes de nosso nacionalmente reconhecido programa para jovens, o ArtWorks.

In celebration of our building opening in July 2011 (7/11), you are invited to participate in Seven x 11: Art for Art. This salon-style exhibition/fundraiser is open to artists of all skill level and age. Your contribution of one to ten small works will qualify you to be one of the first artists to exhibit at the new UICA. Donated work(s) will be part of a five-week exhibition in the prominent Race Street Gallery. Proceeds from art sales will fund emerging artist honorariums and scholarships for our nationally recognized youth program, ArtWorks.

We are seeking work by regional, national and international artists and designers. All media are welcomed, but the work must be on good quality paper. Our goal is to present 1,000 creative works and to raise $25,000. Each piece will be displayed anonymously and will go on sale to the public in July 2011. All artwork, including sold works, will remain on display through the duration of the exhibition and will remain the property of UICA regardless of sale. UICA’s curatorial team reserves the right to reject any artwork that it seems inappropriate or does not meet the requirements for this exhibition.
